If y'all have ever seen our food carts at the events then you have met the Owner & AMAZING Chef Matheus (MATT) Hadba!!
Some information on who he is and how he came up with the idea for Brazilian Fun Foods!
He was born in Bauru, Sao Paulo, Brazil on December 14, 1994. Grew up in a Brazilian & Lebanese family and moved to the USA in January 2001 to have a better life with family. Graduated at top of his class in high school and decided to join the United States Navy to best serve the country and become financially independent. He was a Culinary Specialist (Cook) on the USS Gerald R. Ford and fed 4,000 sailors three times a day. After leaving the Military, he decided to backpack through Europe to explore different cultures and learn how to cook their signature dishes. Upon returning to the US after 3 months of traveling, he enrolled in College full time and focused all his energy on his studies. Then something unexpected happened to him. His mother Jamile Hadba gave him the ultimate present. An opportunity to have his own food business that could help pay for his needs while also using his incredible culinary talents. That is when Brazilian Fun Foods was born (September 2018). The original goal of the company was to make money on the weekends while going to college during the week. Unfortunately the demand for the food became to high and he had to decrease sales and focus more on studies. Until finally dropping out of college for a few months to just focus on the huge success of the business and helping it grow quickly. He first began selling regular Stuffed Churros with just Nutella and Dulce de leche and decided to try new flavors and new toppings to expand the options. The decision to make the Churro dough Vegan was allow people with dietary restrictions or lactose intolerance to have the same opportunity as everyone else. The popularity grew so fast for Vegan Stuffed Churros that new ideas just kept forming for new fillings and creations. He later released a huge seller for a savory option. The Gluten-Free/Low-Carb Yuca Flour Sandwiches, Crepes & Breakfast Burritos with Vegan alternatives. In January 2020, he received a confirmation that he had been granted a full ride to The University of Tampa for a double major in Entrepreneurship and Business Management. He decided to leave his life in Orlando and move to Tampa. He relocated his business and realized the market for his foods were exponential compared to Orlando. He is now a full time college student again and running his company full time as well with the help of his fellow college friends! If y'all see him don't forget to say hi!!!
We look forward to seeing y'all at our next event!!
